Aqueduct, Mint Mark, Emblem of Segovia
THE AQUEDUCT OF SEGOVIA- Interpretation Center
Firstly in the Old Mint and then in the “Real Ingenio” (ordered to be built by Felipe II in 1583), coins were minted with a mint mark which became a symbol all around the world, the Aqueduct of Segovia.
Doing justice to this centenarian connection, the new complex of the Royal Mint houses the Aqueduct Interpretation Center, a modern multimedia and interactive area.
The water, link in the whole Royal Mint complex, will lead you through more than 15 kilometres of length of the best preserved Roman aqueduct in the world, discovering almost 2000 years of history of this monument declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1985.
The Aqueduct Interpretation Center has been built thanks to the project Recovery of the Heritage in Segovia for its Better Tourist Use; subsidized by the Town Hall of Segovia and the European Economic Area (EEA Grants).
